The Satanic Panic
Conspiracy theories through the 1980s and 1990s led to irrational fears of the existence of Satanic Cults that perpetrated horrific crimes. Some licensed therapists capitalized on these narratives and exploited their patients by pressuring them to confabulate false memories under Hypnosis. This Era of profuse conspiracy, known as The Satanic Panic has left harmful roots in our society which still persist today.
